Bill Stimac

Certified Instructor: ASA 101, 103, 104, 105
Bill  first became interested in sailing in the late 1970s after reading a book called “Dove” about a sixteen year-old who set out to sail around the world alone in a 24 foot boat. He  took his  first sailing lessons in 1982 and began crewing on a 30 foot Catalina. He  has raced and cruised on Lakes St.Clair, Erie, and Huron until 1995, finally giving up racing to teach sailing. Bill earned a U.S.C.G. Master’s License in 1994 and have been teaching ASA classes ever since. He  sailed boats from 18 foot Interlakes to large cruisers, single-handing vessels up to 45 feet. Bill has ASA instructor certifications up to Advanced Coastal Cruising and he also teaches the Navigation class.

Ron Henderson

Certified Instructor: ASA 101, 103, 104, 105
Ron is  a retired sheriff and search and recovery diver. He taught boater safety classes for over 10 years while he worked as a marine safety officer. Ron has sailed many races including 3 years sailing the port Huron to Mackinac race as the helmsman on my own 30 ft Catalina. He has a great love for sailing with over 15 years experience and enjoys teaching others how to sail.

Brett Bridgham

Certified Instructor: 101, 103, 104, 105 & 118
With more than 20 years of sailing experience, Brett has had the good fortune of sailing many different types and sizes of boats – ranging from small dingys and Hobie Cats on inland lakes to large keel boats on the Great Lakes, Pacific Coast and VirginIslands. Brett has been an ASA instructor at Lake St Clair Sailing School since 2005, where he enjoys teaching and sharing his experiences with newcomers and seasoned sailors alike.

Dominick Principe

Certified Instructor: ASA 101, 103, 104
Dominick grew up sailing and racing on Long Island Sound in New York City then moved to Michigan attending Eastern Michigan University with a B. S. Degree in Secondary Education. He bought Scrimshaw a Hunter Legend 45 and received his Master License rated for 100 gross tons with sailing and towing endorsement in 2000 From 2003-2008 cruised the Great Lakes and the North Channel with my Wife of 25 years Roberta. Dominick sailed 18 Port Huron to Mackinaws Races and two with Scrimshaw 2004 and 2005. He worked on charter boats from 60 ft to 80 ft as Captain and 1st mate. He delivered a boat from New York City to Detroit through the Erie and the Wayland Canal in 2001. Dominick received his American Sailing Association Certification in 2002. He is now certified to teach 101, 103, 104 and Catamarans. Dominick has taught in the following areas since then: Lake Saint Clair, Lake Huron, Lake Erie, The Chesapeake and the British Virgin Islands.
